New Helio Trademarks
SK-EarthLink (aka Helio) just filed for two new trademarks. It looks like Helio might be gearing up to shake the Wireless industry. The two new trademarks are:

Helio is Official
Like clockwork, one day after the helio.com domain went live, EarthLink announced that its venture with Korean giant SK Telecom will now be known as Helio.
An ambitious joint mobile phone venture between Internet service provider EarthLink and Korean giant SK Telecom has renamed itself Helio, in hopes of creating a new brand aimed at high-tech hipsters.

There are rumors that SK-EarthLink and EarthLink Wireless will soon be remarketing their services under the new brand name “Helio.” This is strengthened by the fact that helio.com is now showing the SK-EarthLink web site as of October 25, 2005. We will post more details as they become available.
i-Kids Service coming to the USA!
SK-Telecom’s i-Kids Service will be coming to the USA next year. The product may be branding under a different name.
The i-Kids Service helps parents protect the safety of their children through the Global Positioning System(GPS) and Cellular Network. You will be able to identify the current location of your children and their movements when an emergency situation occurs. You are also allowed to use the ‘Safety Zone’ service that immediately gives you a warning message if our children leave the safety zone set by you.
Samsung LEO (A560)
EarthLink Wireless proudly launched their newest and first Voice-Only handset, the SAMSUNG LEO (A560). EarthLink Wireless has launched this as FREE handset with a 2 year contract. The Samsung A560 includes an internal antenna, speakerphone, and text messaging. This compact phone has a sleek feel which will fit in your hand or pocket with ease.
New Treo 650 Rate Plans
Yesterday, EarthLink Wireless just announced that they have upgraded their middle tier rate plans for the Treo 650. Their 800 minute plan with unlimited data turned into a 1000 minute plan with no price increase. Their 1100 minute plan with unlimited data turned into a 1500 minute plan with just a $5 price increase. They also announced that they will start offering a $10/month unlimited text message plan for the Treo 650. The pay-as-you-go text message plan dropped from $0.10 per message to $0.02 per message.
Samsung’s DMB phone, the SCH-B250
Samsung Electronics, a leading provider of mobile phones, announced the launch of its fourth satellite DMB phone (model: SCH-B250) following the release of the B100, B130 and Samsung B200. Samsung’s new B250 phone boasts more compact design and improved features while maintaining the basic product concept of previous DMB phones, which supports horizontal viewing. The B250 is also the smallest Samsung DMB handset ever. The Samsung B250 phone is a folder type with pivotal LCD screen which rotates 90 degrees into landscape mode. The Samsung B250 satellite DMB phone follows the same basic design as the hugely popular Samsung SCH-V500 camera phone that went on the market in August of last year.
Samsung SCH-B200, satellite DMB phone
Samsung has announced the SCH-B200, a satellite Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) phone.
The B200 joins two other models, the B100 and B130, in Samsung’s DMB collection. Features of the Samsung B200 include:
- 2 Megapixel camera with flash
- 240 x 320 pixel display with 260K colors
- TransFlash card slot
- EV-DO high-speed data
- Mobile TV (satellite DMB) with TV output port
- Battery strong enough for over 3 hours of continuous multimedia viewing
